The Chausson Flash 634 is 2019s innovative motorhome from Chausson. Continuing on last years new DUOBED system with rear electric drop down bunk beds, these are now being moved to the front, enabling the new Chausson UNIQUE multipurpose rear layout.
With two bunks that are adult sized at the front, a drop down double bed at the rear and a fifth bunk beside that, there are plenty of sleeping options. With all these innovate electrically operated drop down beds, it enables more storage than the average motorhome.
The cab is based on the Ford Transit 2.0TDCI, with a 130bhp. Unfortunately the Chausson Titaniums 170bhp Ford Transit will not be available, as Chausson have simplified their range which means that this will be the only base vehicle available. Even though the Fiat Ducato is not available to the Flash range, the Ford is very good on the road, driving more like a car than the Fiat.
On thing we would highly recommend on the Chausson Flash 634 is the £1,300 VIP pack which includes cab air conditioning, passenger airbag, cruise control with speed limiter, electric de-icing wing mirrors, colour coded front bumper, glossed cab front grill, fog lights, panoramic skylight, cab seat covers and more.
The half dinette is a bit tight, the VIP pack makes it look more appealing with the matching front seat covers. The single bench seat does also turn into a travel seat with a 3 point belt.
Sleeping is where the Chausson Flash 634 comes into its own. At the front are two drop down adult sized bunk beds, which are stored neatly on top of each other in the roof. The large drop down double bed, is neatly stored above the rear lounge. All drop down beds are electrically operated unlike former Flash models. A fifth single bed is can be made up using the rear dinette table, however, this does sit immediate next to the double bed and would only be suitable for an infant rather than three adults sleeping next to each other.
The kitchen is as basic as it gets. There are only two hob burners, a sink and a new 146l compression fridge which runs on 12v or 230v. There is no oven which is seen on the higher spec or UK spec motorhomes. The bathroom is one unit, with a shower, toilet and sink all included.
Part of Chaussons UNIQUE layout, is the storage space available. The drop down beds make much more space in the front and rear lounges. At the rear, there is Chaussons EASYBOX system with 300l of space. This can be height adjusted for more space, however, just so you don’t crush anything thats inside, this is manually operated from inside the garage with a crank winder, just like side canopy awnings.
Starting at just £41,400 on the road, plus the option £1,300 VIP pack which we would highly recommend taking the total up to £42,700, this innovative motorhome is great for a trip away.
