Auto trail is a brand started in 1982 by Bill Boasman and Barry Holmes.

Inspired by the American RV’s they had seen they set about building their first motorhome.

The Cheyenne.

Built on a Peugeot 504.

Now they use the Fiat Ducato as the chassis and have a great reputation as a quality manufacturer.

The Arapaho is a 6 berth, 6 belt beast of a motorhome weighing in at 5 tonne meaning you need to have a cat C1 license in order to be legally able to drive it. If you do have this license though you will be rewarded with an easy drive and generous payload of 960kg.

The particular model shown is a great example of the Arapaho with a manual transmission and the 3.0JTD 160bhp engine.

Other key features of this motorhome are a tow bar, bike rack, reversing camera, electric step, awning, alloy wheels, solar panel, cab A/C, cruise control, electric windows, electric mirrors, cab blinds, sat nav, drop down TV, satellite dome and Truma heating.

The main selling point of the Auto trail Arapaho is the large U shaped rear lounge that quickly converts into a double.

The dining area is behind the drivers seat and this also converts into a double bed with the final double bed over the cab.

The 2012 model started at £68,890 although with the upgrades this particular version would have been considerably more meaning in the open market today this should still be commanding circa £47,000 – £50,000 on a forecourt.
