Auto trail is a brand started in 1982 by Bill Boasman and Barry Holmes.

Inspired by the American RV’s they had seen they set about building their first motorhome.

The Cheyenne.

Built on a Peugeot 504.

Now they primarily use the Fiat Ducato 2.3TD 130bhp as the chassis and have a great reputation as a quality manufacturer.

The Chieftain is a beast of a motorhome, measuring in at 8.73 metres in length and weighing 5 tonne you are going to need a cat C1 license in order to be able to drive this cruiser.

The payload of 1 tonne means that any adventure near or far is more than achievable and the 3 litre engine powers it along.

The example shown is on the manual 6 speed gear box complete with an awning, alloy wheels, reversing camera and roof ladders to the outside.

Inside you are treated to part leather upholstery, cab a/c, cruise control, upgraded stereo, electric windows, electric mirrors, cab blinds and Truma heating.

This motorhome started at £65,765 and today you would expect to pay £40,000 plus on the forecourts for a 2010 model.
