UK Holidays To Hit Record Levels As The FCO Ban Travel

Following an indefinite worldwide travel ban by the FCO, UK holidays are predicted to hit all time highs continuing through the winter months. The previous initial 30 day travel ban that was put in place on the 17th March by the Foreign Office, has now been extended indefinitely. On the 4th February on social media, the FCO wrote “Travel update: The Foreign Office indefinitely advises against all non-essential global travel”.Now, Brits are planning on avoiding the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and staying in the UK with the options of using the motorhomes, caravans, tents and hotels to safely enjoy holidays.

WeBuyAnyMotorcaravan.com buyer Shane said: “We can see the leisure industry exploding when restrictions are safely lifted. The confidence to go abroad with the unknown is very low and hopefully the British economy will prosper from people spending and travelling within the country. We expect some will even want to continue holidaying throughout the winter.

“With some of the most beautiful spots in the world, such as the Lake District, Peak District, Cornwall, Devon and so many other places, we are spoilt for choice for stunning places to go year round”.

“The industry was off to a flying start this year, with dealers reporting record sales in January. I am sure when the market opens back up again, dealers will be raring to go and motorhomes and caravans will be in high demand”.

Holidays in the UK can be cheaper, more social and more relaxing than airline travel. 77% of campers said affordability is one of the main reasons and is on average £1,000 cheaper than a self organised holiday abroad. Camping holidays also make it affordable to go on more holidays, with some enjoying shorter breaks.
